In 2023, I was fortunate to visit Lindholm Høje – the largest Viking burial site in Scandinavia located in Aalborg Denmark. It was a thrilling experience to observe all the prehistory and Viking Age findings from this area, where my family is located. Seeing all the artifacts and old ways of life, helped me to better understand some things I value in my life today such as handcrafting – the exhibits were full of jewellery and crafts! Also, with so much misrepresentation of Viking Age cultures in popular media today, seeing this was necessary for better understanding of who my ancestors were throughout different time periods. The video was filmed vertically because I had originally shot this for my TikTok account and so that I could go back and review the displays later as I didn’t have the time to take it all in. Either way, I hope you find some value in this. Video was sped up 2X or would have ended up being half an hour and too large of a file to upload.
